Bio Gas
Bio gas can be most feasible source of energy for rural sector. Moreover, the raw materials such as cow dung and cellulosed agricultural wastes are easily available in the village. So it will be helpful as a source of energy and also increase the standard of living of the rural people at low cost. Bio gas plants activities were carried out through Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation and more than 2000 bio gas plants were constructed under this programme in three districts i.e. Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad.

Smokeless Chullahs
With the denudation of forests, which besides causing imbalanced environment, has resulted into shortage of fuel wood. With a view to easing this problem to some extent and to do away with burning wood in the traditional stoves (Chullahs), causing pollution in the room and hazards to eye sight, training in construction of improved smokeless chullhas was imparted and then 787 smokeless chullhas were constructed and commissioned.
